Gossip Girl
We all have our addictions, sue me. It doesn't matter how much I hated the episode the week before or how much I ragged on the repetition of the story line or the cheesiness of the acting, I CANNOT miss the new episode that week. I am putting down my pride and admitting: I am addicted to Gossip Girl. I sit there and look at it on my DVR. What if something new happens this week? What if some out of this world twist happens at the end? The sitcom is taking a 2 month break?? Are you kidding?! Like I have a college career to pursue, but no. I'd rather worry about whether Gossip Girl will be average or mediocre this week. Their lives are fascinating. They are a year younger than me and have experienced things that I could never dream of experiencing. Maybe that is the addicting factor the writers have thrown in there. Yes it's true, Blair did fall back into Chuck's love trap--just like the last 6 episodes--but ooooh they went to a masquerade ball with Donald Trump! Let me rewind and watch that scene over and over! That is brilliant, Hollywood writers. We truly are, if not addicted, constantly fascinated with things that we do not experience ourselves. They know that even if they run out of storyline they can throw in an over-the-top gala mixed with a PG sex scene and keep their viewers. Sad that that is the explanation behind my love for the show, but hey, it's a clever ploy.
