Something My Mind Map Says About Me Is...
The thing I noticed most about my mind map, as well as others I observed, was the occurrence of certain words. For example, mine contained family, sleep, and some form of story multiple times--all things that are very important to me. I believe this to be because the function of a mind map is to write what comes to mind in word association and those are clearly things that stay in the front of my mind. Family is first and foremost in this list because it is a driving force in my life. I could not live without my family, and they provide me with endless happiness, so it is obvious that I would associate many things with that word. Sleep is also a large part of my life. Anyone who knows me well knows I love my sleep. I am definitely not one of those people who can function off of a couple hours a night. I fully believe a good night's rest is invaluable. Story seems vague, but it was really brought to my attention when it appeared so much on my mind map. I got to thinking about how everything really is a story. We all tell stories everyday, we make stories with our actions, we listen to stories, and essentially that is what our mind consists of. Every time you produce a thought, if it is not a story, there is one behind it. What I am telling you now is a story and you are listening. Stories are essential in all of our lives. My mind map truly was a compilation of my mind put on paper and it was so enlightening to see it come together.
